World book day is a national event to promote the children’s enthusiasm and love for books, encourage reading and give them the opportunity to have a reading based day to raise the profile of reading in a fun, interesting way. This year our theme is Julia Donaldson books. The children are not required to wear uniform that day as they can dress up as any character from her many books and we will be doing reading work such as character descriptions, author research and book recommendations next week. We will be having a costume competition and prizes will be given to the winner from each class.
