Our Geography curriculum is designed around the experiences and needs of the children in our community. Children will be equipped with knowledge about diverse places, people and resources. They will have clear locational knowledge and will also use their skills of interpretation to develop their place knowledge through the study of the Earth’s natural and human environments, as well as physical and human processes. Our desire is to provide our children with a sense of awe and wonder about the world they live in.
Geography is taught through stories, imagination, communication and the principle of learning to learn to develop knowledge and skills that are transferrable to other curriculum areas. Geographical knowledge, skills and concepts are progressive and sequenced so that as pupils progress through school they develop a connected conceptual understanding of the world.
